Nel 2012 il blog – termine coniato nel 1999 da Peter Merholz, come contrazione di web log (diario in rete) – compie 15 anni. Per convenzione il fenomeno nasce il 18 luglio 1997, quando l’americano Dave Winer sviluppa un software che consente la pubblicazione dei blog.

A partire da queste “prime volte” il blog era stato inteso come luogo in cui raccogliere una lista di link relativi a un interesse personale. Sembra assurdo, eppure 15 anni fa i motori di ricerca non erano ancora universalmente diffusi. Per questo motivo la semplice pubblicazione di una raccolta di link risultò molto utile e innovativa. Poco dopo, grazie soprattutto alla diffusione globale della rete, il blog si è progressivamente trasformato in uno spazio personale nel quale condividere pensieri, opinioni, commenti, immagini, video e altro materiale multimediale.

Tracce dal Cretaceo: fotografato il primo insetto impollinatore

Se la fotografia trova tra i suoi ruoli principali quelli della testimonianza, diretta o meno che sia, risulta assolutamente straordinario quanto di recente pubblicato dalla PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences). Catturati nell’ambra preistorica sono stati fotografati i primi insetti impollinatori, si tratta del Gymnospollisthrips minor. Le larve di questo insetto venivano nutrite con il polline di un lontano progenitore del Ginkgo. Ci troviamo in pieno Cretaceo, oltre 100 milioni di anni addietro. Un tempo i cui rettili e mammiferi dalle dimensioni straordinarie erano gli unici padroni del pianeta e proprio da un’epoca così distante provengono le ambre fossili che hanno imprigionato alcuni esemplari di questa tipologia di insetti. L’osservazione scientifica ha potuto inoltre constatare, grazie alle minuscole tracce di pollice sul corpo dei suddetti insetti, che questi erano soliti avere comportamenti sociali. Per quel che riguarda la storia dell’evoluzione i fiori sono un prodotto assolutamente giovane, recente; con ogni probabilità questi insetti sono stati fondamentali per avviare un processo riproduttivo più veloce di questa straordinaria forma di vita vegetale. Si calcoli che ai nostri giorni solo il 20% delle specie vegetali non fanno ricorso agli insetti per la propria riproduzione, la maggioranza trovano proprio in farfalle, api e altre tipologie impollinatrici, lo strumento per procreare. La lecture di Lucamaleonte è il terzo appuntamento di Quasar Outer Space / / / Oltre Spazio Quasar 2012, nuova edizione del ciclo di eventi che l’Istituto Quasar dedica alle sperimentazioni più innovative nel mondo creativo contemporaneo.

L’edizione di quest’anno esprime ancora di più la necessità creativa di un continuo rinnovamento dell’esplorazione e della traiettoria di ricerca e, per l’occasione, offre un panorama di incontri ampio e variegato da Febbraio a Novembre 2012.

QOS 2012: The Inner Light Files è un viaggio dall’esterno verso l’interno, una parabola “inversa” che opera per contrasto rispetto alla precedente edizione. Nei sei incontri si cercherà di tratteggiare una tendenza rilevante nell’azione creativa che indaga e si interroga sugli strumenti e sulle potenzialità espressive degli stessi nonché sulle possibili interazioni tra discipline e settori diversi.

Lucamaleonte è nato a Roma nel 1983, dove vive e lavora. Laureatosi all’Istituto Centrale per il Restauro, è attivo nel campo della StencilArt dal 2001.

È entrato in contatto con la street art realizzando stencil sui muri di Roma, approdando in poco tempo alla produzione di opere più elaborate dipinte su tela e sviluppando uno stile molto personale per la realizzazione di stencil su più livelli ed immagini con una resa quasi fotografica.
Ha partecipato a diverse esposizioni sia in gallerie italiane, sia all’estero (Stati Uniti, Australia…), tra cui: Can’s Festival (Londra, 2008), Nix Krise (Berlino, 2009), Bricklane (Londra, 2009), Your Kid Can’t Do This (Australia, 2009). Ha collaborato con il collettivo francese Stencil History X con il quale ha esposto in diverse città europee, come Berlino, Londra, Parigi e Barcellona.
